Day 1

Fly into Reykjavik and pick up your camper van from Kuku Campers. We wanted to get the most out of the 5 days we were there and didn’t want to be confined to the check in/check out times of a hotel and found the camper van was the best option to so. .

Note: Bring plenty of groceries. Once you leave Reykjavik, grocery stores are tougher to come by. I also recommend designating a confident driver. The roads are small and the wind is very strong, which makes driving a large vehicle a bit scary—especially going over bridges

Day 2

9:30am - 11:30am

Depart Reykjavik and drive to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

N63.61583° E-19.99278°

Note: Make sure to take the stairs and go behind the waterfall, it's beautiful. However, be prepared to get a bit wet. This site also has a bathroom.

11:30am - 11:45am

Take the short walk from Seljalandsfoss to Gljufrafoss

N63.6213° W19.9848

Note: This waterfall is hidden but be patient and you will find it.

12:00 - 12:20

Drive and then walk to Selijavallalaug Pool
N63.5655° W19.6079°

Note: Walk from the parking lot on the left through the valley towards the mountains for about a mile until you reach the pool. There is a changing room so you can change out of your wet bathing suit after going for a dip.

1:30 - 2:00

Drive by Skogafoss
N63.531479° E-19.511347°

2:30 - 3:00

Drive to Dyrholaey Arch

N63.402157° E-19.130526°

Note: The arch is a quick walk from the parking lot.

3:30 - 4:00

Drive to Reynisfjara (black sand beaches)

N63.403809° E-19.032250°

Note: There are bathrooms in the town of Vik if needed.

4:45 - 6:00

Drive to Fjaorargjufur Canyon

N63.771287° E-18.171626°

Note: It is a 2 mile hike out and back but the views are incredible.

Day 3

7:30 - 8:45

Drive to Fjallsarlon (Glacier Lagoon)

N64.0186° W16.3850°

Note: Keep driving until you reach the actual lagoon. We ended up stopping at a inforation center instead of the actual lagoon and only saw a small portion of the lagoon.

11:00 - 3:00

Drive to Kerið

N64.041225° E-20.885042°

Note: This was a long drive but my favorite part of the trip because it is THAT cool. There is a small donation required to enter (350 ISK).

3:30 - 4:15

Drive to Strokkur Geysir

N64.312531° E-20.300007°

Note: There is only one geysir but it goes off every 5 minutes or so.

4:30 - 4:45

Drive to Gullfoss Falls

N64.327408° E-20.121479°

Day 4

2 hour drive from Gullfoss

Drive to Blue Lagoon

Note: This was the perfect way to end the trip (especially after living in a camper for 3 days). Make sure you make an appointment well in advance.
